Here's the Interior before we started tearing it out.

And this little feller scared the bejeezus outa me. He first poked a long leg through the hole there, and I about freaked. All I could think of was "TEXAS=BROWN RECLUSE=PAINFUL DEATH".
sm_tr2_10.jpg

We finally got him out from within the fender walls, and he soon died. So did several of his friends we found later. Little spiders I like. They kill little bugs. Michigan doesn't have any big bugs requiring big spiders.

Here's the driver's side. Lots of rust. The seat rails were held in by rusted non-standard Allen head screws. Most were simply snapped off.
sm_tr2_12.jpg

Here's the passenger side. See the steel jack hole cover? These were later changed to rubber plugs. Dad (a retired Tool & Die designer) is going to try and create me a pair of duplicates (as the only replacements are rubber.

Here's a closer view of the passenger side. Notice the tattered wiring harness. Also, this floorboard will be replaced. You can see a bit of the door. The doors came off but required liberal use of the impact screwdriver.

Dad and Jeff take a break. So far we've had bolt heads just snap off, but at least the front fenders, apron and bonnet are off now.
sm_tr2_15.jpg

Here we've gotten the interior trim and dash out. Next comes everything else we can remove. Wiring harness, Steering column, transmission cover all come out next.

And here is what we've taken off so far today.
sm_tr2_17.jpg

Here's a close up of the front apron. Looks like it's in good shape, right? Well, not as good as it looks, but that's next week.
sm_tr2_18.jpg

Here's the rear fenders and boot lid, dash and spare cover.
sm_tr2_19.jpg

Here's the Engine compartment. The aftermarket air horns are gone. The red & silver cannister on the right is a part of the air horns. It's gone too. The radiator is in fair shape, although I've yet to do anything other than remove it, so we'll have to see.
Just above each of the air horns, on the fender well, you'll see the brackets for the latch mechanism. TR2's up to TS4229 had this internal mechanism.

Here's a view of the gas tank. Rust here is minor, mostly surface. This will all clean up well.

Another photo of the gas tank. Broke bolts on both hinges taking the boot lid off.

Finally, here's the boot. The floor is is pretty good shape. The upper left and right corners have some pinhole rust, and will be patched. The rest is in good shape.
